PRESS RELEASE
m+p international improve test productivity with their latest version of the Vibco NT vibration control system
True to it's word m+p international have listened carefully to their customers and provided them with a number of significant new productivity aids as part of their latest V2.3.2 release of the Vibco NT vibration control system.
Built on 15 years experience with UNIX based vibration control systems, Vibco NT was introduced in 1997 and was the world's first Windows NT based product for environmental vibration test applications. The pioneering use of the NT operating system in this application has lived up to m+p's initial promises as acknowledged by many of the leading environmental test laboratories around the world who have installed m+p systems. Reliable multi-tasking operation and safe test execution together with low software maintenance costs have been the benefits achieved with this stable software platform.
Moving beyond the normally accepted functions of defining and running all of the standard tests such as swept sine, random, shock and a host of mixed modes, 14 test types in total, this new release advances the art in terms of engineer productivity.
The requirements to further reduce set up time at the front end and better automate the ever increasing test reporting demands at the back end were seen as growing priorities by m+p's users. m+p have addressed these issues in this new release.
At the front end, test definition is made faster and more accurate by an intelligent calculator that computes cross over frequencies according to the user's choice of defined acceleration, velocity or displacement and also automatically inserts any missing breakpoint frequencies, amplitudes or slopes. For shock users two new tools have been added which create sine burst and shock profiles with custom, including non-linear, compensation. These facilities, together with the unique shaker load validation wizard ensures new tests are developed quickly within known test equipment capabilities thus avoiding costly mistakes and test piece or equipment overload damage.
Custom reporting tools have been greatly enhanced in this new release. Up to 4 on line graphics windows each with 4 channel results can now be configured to allow immediate test result reports to be generated. The user can customise the standard test reports in terms of test parameter content, added comments, company logos, colours etc thus eliminating the time consuming post test report generation activity and the use of cumbersome data export and other software tools.
Building on the extensive post test analysis and reporting available in previous releases a new MultiPlot tool is available which allows data to be graphed from multiple tests. This enables fast comparisons to be made over several test runs to show variation in product performance over time or perhaps differences in resonance frequency from sample to sample when testing prototypes for example.
To further improve test equipment availability and productivity all post processing is now also offered in a remote PC version. This enables all set-up, analysis and reporting to be performed at a remote PC, via a local network connection, allowing more than one operator access to the system set-up and results data. Any number of controllers can be connected in this way allowing additional post test reporting to take place from one or more locations while the multiple test systems around the facility are utilised running new tests.
Mahrenholtz + Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH was founded 20 years ago by engineers from the Institute of Technical Mechanics, Hannover University, Germany. Specialising in vibration test and software engineering solutions, m+p is now a world wide provider of products and services for vibration and acoustic testing, emissions testing, environmental test simulation and real time monitoring.
In 1992 m+p international was formed in Hannover, Germany and New Jersey, USA specifically to develop and market the company's vibration controller and data acquisition products. Both divisions have won significant local market share within the high performance automotive, aerospace and electronic environmental test markets. Their customer support commitment was further enhanced with their recently established UK base.
